One of the most appealing aspects of an MMO is life skills. There are many to choose from in Lost Ark, one of which is fishing. This may leave players wondering how to get a fishing rod and how to fish in Lost Ark.

To get the fishing rod, you must start the Crown of Lakebar quest in West Luterra. This will let you purchase a Novice Fishing Tool from the Trade Tool Merchant in Lakebar. If you complete the Fishing, Bite the Time quest, you will get an Apprentice Fishing Tool.

How to fish in Lost Ark

To fish in Lost Ark, you must first equip your Fishing Tool and find a fishing spot. These appear as hook icons—there is one in Lakebar. This is how you fish in Lost Ark.

  • Press B to open your Trade menu.
  • Press E to equip your Fishing Tool.
  • Press E again to cast your fishing rod into the water.
  • Wait for a fish to bite your line and an exclamation point to appear.
  • Press E to reel the fish in.

There are different types of fish that can bite your line. These appear in various colors and will award you more items depending on the color. Items obtained from fishing will appear in your storage.
